multidisciplinary artist
Moa Marklund (born in 1996, Stockholm, Sweden) stands as a versatile Swedish multidisciplinary artist. With a multifaceted background in performing arts, critical studies and food design, she brings a unique blend of expertise to her work. Grounded in extensive research on somaesthetics, an interdisciplinary field that delves into bodily perception and presentation, she has found edible materials to be a particularly compelling avenue for artistic expression. Through immersive sensory experiences, thought-provoking exhibits, and educational initiatives, her projects aim to illuminate the interconnectedness of food, culture, and sustainability.
She has collaborated with a range of esteemed partners and venues, including MDT - Swedish Modern Dance Theatre, Arkdes - Swedish Museum of Architecture and Design, Swedish Fashion Council and (La) horde Ballet National de Marseille, with work showcased globally. In her latest venture, Marklund partners with Mona Namer on the evocative performance "Birth Liquid," creating a captivating immersive installation destined for exhibition at Fotografiska - The Swedish Museum of Photography.
Marklund's projects serve as catalysts for dialogue, reflection, and action, inspiring individuals to make informed decisions that contribute to a more sustainable and culturally enriched future.
