Stockholm-based textile artist
Anna Nordström, born in 1984 in Gävle, Sweden, is a Stockholm-based textile artist. She works with a wide range of techniques, with a focus on patchwork, quilting, and embroidery. She holds an MFA and a BA in Textile from Konstfack, Stockholm, and has studied at MICA, Baltimore. Through her creations, she explores themes such as work, femininity, ideals, and desirability. Anna is also one of the six founders and members of DNK (Den Nya Kvinnogruppen, The New Women’s Group), a craft collective which explored materiality, tactility and feminist strategies through exhibitions, workshops, talks, and publications (2013-2018). She has exhibited both in solo and group shows all around Sweden and in international capitals, such as London Tokyo, and Copenhagen, and is represented in Swedish public collections and major museums.
