Kassandra Lora, born 1991 in Stockholm, Sweden, grew up in Bolivia from the age of four until she moved back to Sweden in 2018. Kassandra has a background in Industrial Design and a specialization as a 3D-technician. Her journey into digital art led her to undertake a one-year course in Programming for Designers at Konstfack Stockholm, mentored by Palle Torsson. Currently, she is pursuing a Master's Degree in Design Ecologies at Konstfack. Her career is multifaceted, including working as an educator in various art and design schools like Nyckelviksskolan, Beckmans College of Design, Södertörn University, and Konstfack, iwhere she has shared her expertise in 3D-techniques. Kassandra also collaborates with renown artists such as Arvida Byström, Charlotte Kemp Muhl, as well as the robotists and composers Fredrik Gran and Sage Morei. She also works as a set designer in TV and film.
Her design reflects a belief in the symbiosis between technology and ancient wisdom, advocating for the preservation of nature and raising awareness about environmental issues. In her creations, she frequently employs a blend of reused and new materials, giving them a vibrant futuristic energy. She is drawn to the exploration of desires, dreams, nature and the cosmos, aiming to bridge traditional elements in modern societal contexts. Themes of magic rooted in Andean cosmovision serve as significant influences in her work which permeate the variety of digital techniques forming the backbone of her creative process, such as 3D-printing, 3D-scanning, and digital art.
