multi-disciplinary artist and designer
Frida Fjellman, born in 1971 in Mariestad, Sweden, is a multi-disciplinary artist and designer based in Stockholm, where she created her own studio in 2000. After completing an MFA in Ceramic at Konstfack, Stockholm, she expanded her practice to glass and light in the USA, at Corning Museum of Glass Studio in New York and Pilchuck Glass School. Her work, which range from small objects to fully immersive installations, is full of colors and flourish ornaments, far from the typical sober tone of Swedish design. Frida has exhibited all around the world, in Sweden, France, Italy, England, the USA, and Japan. She is represented in the collections of major museums, such as the American Museum of Glass and Nationalmuseum, Stockholm, for which she created the 8-meter-high totem Venus in Glass. Beside numerous solo and group exhibitions, Frida works as a designer for Kosta Boda and for private and public commissions.
