Photography & Film
Emma Dominguez, born in 1989 in Botkyrka, Sweden, is a Stockholm-based artist. She holds a BFA in Fine Arts from Konstfack, Stockholm. She has been working mostly with photography and film but uses a wide range of techniques depending on the situations and spaces she works in, for her art is often site-specific. Through her work, she explores power structures and normative hierarchies, working mostly with collective and collaborative processes to question hegemonic patterns. She asks who gets to speak, to be seen, and represented, and whose body is allowed to take up space in different environments. Emma has participated in many collective exhibitions all around Sweden, is represented in Botkyrka’s public collection, and has received artistic grants from Helge Ax:son Johnsons Stiftelse, Nils Johan Sjöstedts Stiftelse, and the City of Stockholm.
