Misschiefs brings to Barcelona the immersive textile installation Nobody Puts Baby in a Corner by Swedish textile artist Maja Michaelsdotter. The exhibition transforms the space with unique hand-tufted sculptures, sound, light, and video, creating an immersive scenographic experience. The installation will be on view from October 14 to 31, 2025 , as part of Barcelona Design Week.
An Exhibition About Reproductive Rights through Textile Art
The installation features a series of five unique hand-tufted sculptures made by Maja Michaelsdotter. The sculptures are scaled up replicas of the pills most commonly used by women who choose to end a pregnancy.
Twenty-five million women worldwide have an unsafe abortion every year. The consequences are permanent disabilities or death. As abortion is increasingly stigmatised, criminalised and restricted around the globe, Nobody Puts Baby in a Corner aims at raising awareness about women’s reproductive autonomy as basic human right.
