A Womxn Method for Structural Change

Misschiefs is an independent method and platform designed to challenge how women, trans and non-binary artists access space, resources, and visibility. Since 2020, the foundation provides rent-free studio spaces, international exhibition opportunities, as well as curatorial and production support to selected womxn artists.

Care as Method, Community as Infrastructure

Central to Misschiefs is the creation of a safe(r) and more sustainable community for womxn artists, where shared resources, peer exchange, and collective knowledge production form the basis for stronger artistic development. This approach reframes care as a working methodology that enables long-term artistic growth and resilience with womxn artists in focus.

Addressing Structural Barriers Through Collaboration

In collaboration with like-minded partners, ranging from local and national government to socially engaged entrepreneurs, individuals and companies, Misschiefs actively works to dismantle the structural barriers that continue to shape and limit the conditions for womxn artists to work, be more visible and thrive.

From Local Roots to International Reach

Misschiefs’ activities span internationally, so far including Sweden, France, Italy, the UK, and Spain. Residence Sigrid, located in the French village of Collioure, marks the foundation’s latest expansion, broadening its commitment to creating dedicated spaces for womxn’s artistic production, visibility and reach.
