A Womxn Platform for Structural Change
Misschiefs is an independent platform and method designed to challenge how women and non-binary artists access space, resources, and visibility. Since 2020, the foundation provides rent-free studio spaces, exhibition opportunities, as well as curatorial and production support to selected womxn artists.
Care as Method, Community as Infrastructure
Central to Misschiefs is the creation of a safe(r) and sustainable community for womxn artists, where shared resources, peer exchange, and collective knowledge production form the basis for artistic development. This approach reframes care as a working methodology—one that enables long-term artistic growth and resilience.
Addressing Structural Barriers Through Collaboration
In collaboration with like-minded partners—ranging from local and national government to socially engaged entrepreneurs and companies—Misschiefs actively works to dismantle the structural barriers that continue to shape and limit the conditions for womxn artists today.
From Local Roots to International Reach
Misschiefs’ activities span internationally, including Sweden, France, Italy, the UK, and Spain. Residence Sigrid, located in the French village of Collioure, marks the foundation’s latest expansion—extending its commitment to creating dedicated spaces for artistic production and exchange.
