Furniture designer and artist
Ellen Hedin (born in 1995, Stockholm, Sweden), is a designer and artist, working in the fields of furniture and sculpture. She graduated from HDK-Valand, Gothenburg in 2022 and holds a BFA in Design. Ellen is creating expressive pieces that resonates both an understanding of traditional craftsmanship but also a playfulness and a willing to break with old conventions. Her degree project is called Pangaea, it aims to explore means of a small scale production as an alternative to global mass production. Early in her career she has already received several grants, including Carl Malmsten’s Foundation, and she has exhibited at Stockholm’s Museum of Furniture Studies.
